“I was truly amazed at how you guys approached the project – conscientious, reliable, excellent craftsmanship. I really doubt the work would have been completed any better had you been working on one of your own boats, and I cannot express how much that meant, and still means, to me.” |

From 1988 until 1995 the major employment for Baird Boat was work
on the Alaska Fishing fleet. We earned a reputation for trustworthy and fairly
priced work, and assembled a crew of excellent boatbuilders to do it.
|
|
In 1997, we expanded our focus to yacht repair. We built a modern
2800 sq. ft. heated shop, in which boats up to 60 feet can be repaired and
painted in any weather. Also, in 1997, the Port of Port Townsend increased its
maximum haulout capacity to 300 tons, and we began to work on larger
boats. | |
|
Over the last five years Baird Boat has been privileged to repair
and restore such classic vessels as the 93’ M/V Olympus, the 90’ M/V Montego,
the 75’ M/V Nor’wester, the 80’ S/V Tatoosh, the 103’ S/V Adventuress, and the
107’ M/V Dorothea. In addition we have worked on many smaller commercial vessels
and yachts. |
|
We have a 15 year body of experience to guide us in our judgment
of what works well. Our reputation is based on the excellence and fairness of
our work over that time-period. The back-bone of our operation is our
exceptional crew. |
